I agree with you. Nice area and a little walking never hurt anyone. However, if my facts are correct, she shouldn't have picked up the older child and left the younger one by herself, especially if walking was a new experience for these children. That was her real misjudgement. From the age of 8 onward my sister and I walked at least one and a half miles to school every day and the same back home. No one accused my parents of child neglect or abuse.......

You got the 2 brats right! I raised 2 and they were left before whether they wre arguing or unprepared coming home from school (ie homework, books,etc). my daughter is now an honor student in college and my son is a U.S Marine. I instilled something right!

I agree with you...I think the outside world has become to involved in what parents do to punish their kids. there is definitely a line between child abuse and good ole fashioned punishments but i think we need to get back to basics and get control over the children instead of the children being in control. 3 miles from home is not that far! they should be walking home and understanding what they did wrong, not calling the police and standing on the corner feeling sorry for themselves...get over it! why did the oldest leave the youngest? that alone shows that they need to learn some empathy towards each other much less their mother! Wow don't get me started...
